Networking & Facilitation Office

The purpose of the Networking & Facilitation Office (NFO) is to act as the administrative and communication headquarters for NPMTI. The NFO operates as an independent arm of the National Agricultural Genotyping Center (NAGC), which has significant experience managing complex multi-state Initiatives.

NAGC is a producer-focused, not-for-profit, 501(c)(5) corporation that concentrates on commercializing the research of others by making scientific discoveries available to producers and their advisors.

NFO responsibilities

NFO Facilitates Communications

  • Between all NPMTI participants
  • Manages NPMTI Website
  • Oversees production and distribution of NPMTI communications
  • Acts as liaison between NPMTI and USDA-ARS
  • Maintains mailing lists
  • Acts as a rapid clearinghouse of NPMTI related questions
  • Monitors NPMTI committees and facilitates appointments

Meeting Management

  • NFO manages the NPMTI Annual Meeting (AM) and a second meeting of NPMTI-funded participants

RFP

NFO will draft the annual Request for Proposal (RFP), incorporating feedback from NPMTI leadership

  • Distribute the RFP application using various electronic mailing lists
  • Facilitate review process for proposals
  • Notify applicants of funding recommendations
  • Forward NPMTI’s recommended budget and grant proposals to USDA-ARS

Resource Management/Accountability Center

  • Maintain records on all proposals, projects, and grants submitted and recommended for funding to USDA-ARS
  • Generate and process progress-reporting forms
  • Generate reports requested by committees
